Teacher Candidate Wellbeing in the Lakehead Faculty of Education, Orillia

Abstract

The Operation Happy to Be Here (OH2BH) project aims to understand and represent the experiences of Professional Program students during their enrollment in the Faculty of Education at Lakehead University. Among its goals is to establish a sense of the well-being of our students, including (a) the mental health issues (anxiety, stress, worriedness, etc.) they cope with during their time in our program; (b) what contributes to these disconcerting circumstances; and (c) what individual, institutional, and structural interventions might be appropriate to respond to student wellness concerns.
